E-News 2 – Rocking into Weekend One
Friday, August 29th, 2008E-News 2: Friday 29 Aug 08 Events & Media Opportunities
WEEK ONE – FESTIVAL CAIRNS
Festival Cairns 08 is in full swing and today leads the program into the first of four action-packed weekends.
Last night we tipped off the QLD Cup at the Fish Tank and yes, Skytrans Cairns Taipans was victorious at the first hurdle in beating the Gold Coast Blaze – but can they do the same tonight against Townsville Crocs? And Shakespeare has been shaking the foundations of Cairns City Library..….a great weekend in store with TimeOUT Concert ready to rock the Cairns Showgrounds….don’t recall a concert there since AC/DC came to town in November 1996…so that will be a truly special, history making occasion – no doubt…and for those waking up from a hangover on Sunday, spare a thought for celebrated triathlete, Brad Beven and the city’s sportspeople who will battle it out in a challenge of the fittest at Festival of Sport.
Don’t forget the first of four Festival Friday’s tonight at Ba8, Shangri-la….
